Here is a glimpse of the sketch used for the painting below. You can see how rough I worked. I then transferred it to watercolor paper and let the painting to evolve. This is what I call the "Go As You Go" technique.
In a nutshell...I grew up in Amish Pennsylvania farm country, moved to New York City and lived there for 8 years. While in NY, I worked as an animator and illustrator. I've been working for Disney since '87 went on staff in '92 and moved to Los Angeles with Disney in '94. I'm currently the art director for the Mickey Franchise at Disney consumer products. I live in the Hollywood Hills with my wife and 3 spoiled dachshunds.
